Q: What is the admission price for the museum?

A: The fee schedule can be found on the Visitor Information page. Admission is free for anyone with a valid UT ID.

Q: When is the museum open?

A: The museum is open Tuesday-Saturday, 9 am-5 pm.


Q: Where is the museum located?

A: Texas Memorial Museum is located at 2400 Trinity Street on The University of Texas at Austin main campus. Find more information on the Directions and Parking page.


Q: Where can I park? Do you validate parking?

A: Information about visitor parking can be found on the Directions and Parking page. We are not able to validate parking.


Q: Is the museum accessible for visitors with a mobility impairment? Are wheelchairs available?

A: There is an accessible entrance on the first floor; see the Accessibility page for more details. A wheelchair is available for visitor use on a first come, first serve basis. Speak to the security guard on the second floor for details.


Q: How do I plan a visit to the museum for a group?

A: Visit the Tours page to schedule a group visit to the museum. The fee schedule for groups can be found on the Visitor Information page.


Q: How long does it take to look through the entire museum?

A: Your time spent at the museum can vary depending on your interest in the various exhibits. You should allot at least one to two hours to fully visit the museum.


Q: Is the museum appropriate for both children and adults?

A: The museum’s exhibits and events are appropriate and educational for people of all ages.


Q: Can I bring in natural objects (i.e. fossils, rocks, etc.) to be identified?

A: Identifications of natural objects are provided on Identification Day.  Fossil identifications are available on National Fossil Day and on Explore UT.


Q: Can we take pictures in the museum?

A: Visitors are welcome to take pictures for personal use throughout the museum.  


Q: Is there a place to eat in the museum?

A: Food and open beverage containers are not permitted in the museum. Dining options available within walking distance of the museum include: the Red McCombs Red Zone Food Court at the north side of DKR Texas Memorial Football Stadium, Texas Espresso Café at the Etter-Harbin Alumni Center, and Under the Oaks Café at the Thompson Conference Center.


Q: Are there any other museums close by that we can visit?

A: Other museums nearby include: the Bullock Texas State History Museum, Blanton Museum of Art, Harry Ransom Center, The H.J. Lutcher Stark Center, and the LBJ Presidential Library.


Q: Are there any employment opportunities at the museum?
